a whole new appreciation for morphine

Thanks to various delays, they didn't actually begin the surgery until about 4 PM yesterday, which meant by the time they were done it was 8 PM and so I wound up staying overnight. Pain control was through a combination of Percocet and morphine, and that worked very well indeed. My legs are two solid masses of Ace bandage from toes to thighs. P came and picked me up this afternoon, dropped me at home, and headed out to her place so as to avoid rush-hour traffic.

I think I'm going to reassemble my nose hose, take a couple Percocet, and nod out for a while. Just wanted to let folks know I'm home and okay.

Yeah. The way they have my legs wrapped, I can't hardly do much else. :)

Re: Wombat...
Yes indeed. Bandages are supposed to come off tomorrow night, but I'll be taking it easy for another couple of weeks while everything knits back together.

Excellent. Hopefully you'll be up and about by Katsucon, lol.

Nah. You'll be up and about BEFORE then.
