Jim the Realtor shows us the Rock House.

Thanks to Calculated Risk, I'm a fan of Jim the Realtor, so I'm glad to see that others have started paying attention to his work. As for the house itself, I'm originally from southern California, so I'm not the least bit surprised by grandiose structures like that (southern California does attract dreamers, visionaries, and outright loons). I'm only surprised that it wasn't finished.

That view is gorgeous. It reminds me of the view I grew up with, although that was of the mountains north of Los Angeles, not the sea. I could look across the entire San Fernando Valley from my backyard.

Clearly the builder didn't run out of rocks, so I'm guessing he either died or ran out of money to stick the rocks together.

Jim the Realtor is interesting; he's one of those things on the Web that I just don't have the time to visit unless someone else points out an especially interesting episode.
