and before I forget...

Weighed in at 403.5 when I was at the clinic yesterday. I'd really rather not have to go to the hospital to drop weight, but it appears to work better than some other things I've been doing. Still, there's more veggies and fruit around here than usual, so there's a pretty good chance that by the time November 15 rolls around that I'll be under 400 for the first time in...I don't know. Before I started LJ, maybe.

Reading a lot of Bill James Baseball Abstracts and such like books this past week, getting re-immersed in baseball and its technical side. It's been suggested that I do a baseball blog, but I am several years out of the loop and don't recognize half these players. I did volunteer my services as a reporter to STATS, Inc., and may well be covering a bunch of games for them next year. Hopefully that won't involve getting cable or satellite. I am also half-seriously considering making an offer to the Nationals. Their farm system is kind of bare at the moment and it occurs to me that they could use a hired gun who is somewhat familiar with the independent leagues. Even if they pay me in tickets or gift cards, it's better than nothing and may get me access to information I wouldn't have otherwise.

On the one hand, it slays the bacteria like drunkenphower or her boyfriend playing Dynasty Warriors. On the other hand, it makes solid excreta turn to liquid, cheese and bananas and apples and toast notwithstanding. Also also there's the miserable energy-sucking qualities, but that's kind of common to antibiotics.

Finally, I got my lease renewal for Foxchase; they're going to want $980/month next year. :(

yay on dropping the pounds - the "near death diet" always
works, and you always regret having to use it.... hospitals
make it CLEAR that anyone can drop weight, given the right

and sounds like you are holding the BG in check too - that is
great - that will help the drugs work on the legs.

keep hammering on it - make that meatloaf! -doug

The really surprising thing to me about the hospital diet was that I was getting what seemed to be a carb-heavy diet: lots of starches, two servings of fruit or fruit juice at every meal. Since it only added up to 2000 calories/day, the weight came right off.
