Wow. I don't think I've spent that much money on groceries since my daughter and her then-boyfriend were living with me, with the possible exception of some grocery runs I did for Mom when I was living there in the fall of 2007. Blew almost a whole C-note at Harris Teeter, and it would have been a lot worse without the VIC card...or maybe better, since I might not have gone for quite so many of those deals in the meat and dairy sections. Well, after the obligatory wailing and gnashing of teeth, I have 7.5 pounds of frozen chicken, a slightly smaller quantity of beef ribs, more lunch meat than I can reasonably use in the next 2-3 weeks, bread (!), frozen veggies, and a bunch of other stuff I barely have room for in the cabinets and fridge. Well, at least I won't need to pick up anything at the store for a few weeks, which could come in handy depending on how the job situation works out.
I'm pretty sure I'll be collecting a check next Thursday, since I doubt that Tammy is going to want to go through the next payday with just the procedures to guide her. After all, she was really too sick to absorb anything on the first go-round, and her exposure to the second one was basically reconstructing on the Monday following what should have happened the previous Thursday, which really didn't do much good in my opinion or hers. So I spent part of this afternoon rewriting the payday procedure, going into more detail about how the spreadsheets/forms need to be filled out and where to find them. I'll work on it some more on Monday.
Also, am now loose on Facebook, which is proving to be a better tool for reconnecting with high school friends than Classmates.com.
