SNL describes how we got into this mess

This skit may be the funniest thing they've done in quite a while.
Seems to be going up and down and up and down thanks to some high-pitched whining from NBC and some of the people skewered, but it seems to be working fine at Michelle's place. Call the waaahmbulance!

They're doing a good job of skewering both sides this time around. One of my favorites was a meeting of New York Times reporters planning to go to Alaska and dig up dirt on Palin when none of them had ever left Manhattan before. Hilarious.

If they keep this up, I may actually plug in a TV and start watching it again. (Yes, I have two TVs, and no, neither one is plugged in.)

The vid has been pulled from U-tube already, due to copyright infringement it says. It is probably being offered on the NBC site though.

Lest you buy into the conspiracy theory about suppressing it, it seems that NBC is trying to preserve their ad revenue. Nice high quality version (with ads, natch) is available at http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/c-span-bailout/727521/ (http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/c-span-bailout/727521/)

I'd be less prone to don my tinfoil helmet if NBC hadn't edited the skit before reposting it.
