What's Your Political Philosophy?
created with QuizFarm.com
You scored as Foreign Policy Hawk

Foreign policy hawks believe that the spread of liberty throughout the world is the historic mission of the United States, and that it is vital for our security. They can be found in both political parties, and are united in their desire for a large military and a highly assertive foreign policy.

It's as simplistic as a lot of other such quizzes, but it comes closer to covering the bases of Libertarian Falangism as any I've taken.

I took it and had about the same results as you, but they wanted my password to post, so I didn't give it to them.

I just cut and pasted the code. No password, no problem.

Well, not sure how the results scale for those of us living north of the Border, and I certainly found some of the questions decidedly foreign, but here is the result anyway. Must say that I am watching your current political evolution even more closely than usual....

I believe this translates into Grit or "wet" Tory, if I remember my Canadian party lineups and your personal preferences correctly. I can't see you as a Dipper, but I've been wrong about folks before.

Welcome to the LJ, BTW.

lol - definately not a 'dipper. I'd most likely be called a 'red' tory - fiscally conservative, what would be called 'hawkish' on foreign policy in the states and socially liberal. Not sure I should use the word liberal to an American consrvative, may be too much baggage there....

As a noun, "liberal" down here has become synonymous with "socialist", but as an adjective nobody cares about it.

The low score for SoCon Republican doesn't surprise me at all, but how'd you get just 5% for Green? (And how'd I get 20%?)

In my case, it was probably by believing that groups like Nature Conservancy beat the government in terms of preserving the environment by having sensitive locations in private rather than public hands. The Greens really are fans of using governmental fiat to accomplish their goals; I just donate to private charities whose goals are aligned with mine.

Being in favor of environmentally responsible policy (nuclear and other forms of clean energy) and being a Green are orthogonal.

It was probably a difference in importance weighing. Environmental issues aren't real high on my list of critical issues, though I agree that the Nature Conservancy does a hell of a lot better job than the National Park Service or *shudder* the Forest Service.
