Something from my endless to-do list

joelrosenberg is fuming about Christmas, and in the course of responding/sympathizing, it occurred to me that I never quite got around to compiling my list of holidays correlated with the Seven Deadly Sins.

Christmas is obviously Greed, the 4th of July is Pride, and Thanksgiving is Gluttony. Any suggestions for the others? Since I think there are more holidays than Deadly Sins, I'm open to suggestions using venial sins as well. :)

I'll stick out my neck and compare Wrath to Patriot Day. >.>

I'd almost agree, except nobody I know gets 9/11 off.
Do we really have a holiday that serves as a national Dies Irae?

Patriot's Day is celebrated in Massachusetts and Maine. It's traditionally the 19th of April and commemorates the Battles of Lexington and Concord. It's also the day the Boston Marathon is run (and thus, taking the day off in Boston is mandatory, as the city is screwed worse than a 5' snowfall).

Valentine's Day has got to be lust... which leads us off on the tangent of naming patron saints for the seven cardinal sins.

Envy? How 'bout Columbus Day?
