I did okay with the tutorials, though I didn't finish them - I kind of fell out and couldn't get back in the flow during the second Deadspace lesson. Doesn't matter. I can fly, fight and mine. What I can't do is handle odds of 1:6 and worse, which is what the last couple of missions have handed me. Even in a Condor stuffed full of missiles, I just can't kill them fast enough before my shields fail. Now, maybe there's something about the Caldari culture I just don't get, but this strikes me as exactly the wrong way to train aspiring n00bs, even if they get to eject and make their way back to the nearest station, where they get issued another cheap POS ship to get into trouble with. thaadd and jamestrainor were kind enough to front me some serious wads of cash and some very useful info, which I'm going to use to get a better ship and better results when I get back into it this afternoon.
But first, I need to go out in the snow, get my Actos (I gave up on it yesterday, roads were just AFU) and other stuff at WalMart. None of today's activity is being made easier by staying up until almost 0500 reading John Scalzi's The Ghost Brigades. This is a sequel to Old Man's War, and like the original, it kicks much ass.
In other news, the crappy weather forced the cancellation of today's staff meeting. revolutionaryjo, whatchu want to do about all these AMVs? I'm going to be down around MCAD at 7 PM, so I could swing by before or later to drop them off.
