Back to the trenches

Well, I'm feeling a little better this morning, and a hot shower should bring me up to fully functional - at least as far as work goes. Blood sugar is a little high this morning, but I was expecting that. It'll drop off by lunchtime.

I'm a little puzzled by my schedule for the summer term. The three-credit adolescent psych class (which I'm the only person signed up for so far) apparently is only two weeks/eight hours long and runs from May 8 to May 15. The two-credit social studies methods class, on the other hand, starts at the end of June and runs through early August, with one Saturday session on CONvergence weekend and another at the end of July (obviously the former is right out), which is just bizarre - since when is the two-credit class supposed to go on for six weeks as opposed to the three-credit class? You'd think it would be the other way around.

Well, I'll worry about it later - it's time to hit the shower and go catch a bus.

The adolscent psych class is probably eight hours a day EVERY day (or at least Mon-Thurs)of the two weeks that it is scheduled. Then you should get another 2 weeks to finish all the assignments. You should check with your advisor, but I know that's how most the 3 credit summer courses at my school are set up. You may want to consider dropping that course.

As much as I really want to get my certificate over and done with, I still decided that a summer off is going to be the ticket for me. I still haven't registered for my fall class yet. I'm torn between Information Architecture and Behavior of Information Users. I prefer the latter but no one has signed up yet for that one. The other class is a core class so that shouldn't get cancelled out, although that's scheduled for the afternoon. If I get a full time job that one won't work for me.

You'd think it would be like that, but the schedule says two sessions of four hours each. It's got to be a typo in the online schedule - either that or there's a buttload of homework. I guess I'll find out. Part of the reason I'm taking the course is that I have next to no formal psych classwork anywhere in my undergraduate or graduate transcript, just smidges here and there picked up in various education courses over the last three years.

As for taking the summer off - I did that last fall, and can't afford to do it again so soon. I'm not quite living from student loan to student loan, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't help a lot.
