Unintended benefits of exercise

Not having brought anything to read during lunch, and not needing to make up any time (for once) I spent half my lunch meandering over to Borders in Block E to glance over their manga section (which has become truly huge) and see if there was anything interesting in the SF section. It wasn't until I was on my way out that I spotted trade paperbacks of Charles Stross' The Atrocity Archives and Toast, the latter being a short-story collection with a funny foreward featuring an imaginary conversation with H.G. Wells. I asked them to hold that for me until tomorow, and I'll probably be a spendthrift moron and get The Atrocity Archives as well. Even if the Stateside publisher makes Bob Howard look like Gordon Freeman, it'll be worth having.

Aside from that and experiencing the joys of the Carbon, it's been a pretty average day around here. There's been enough work to keep me busy most of the time, and I'm feeling better than I was last night. So I may goof around, assemble some playlists using the Rio software, and get plenty of sleep tonight, since tomorrow is going to be a long and busy day.

Looks like I may be in luck as far as wheels go - even if Carlos needs Mom's car, Alamo and Budget have Impalas for ~$20/day, which about as good as it gets. Those are pretty good cars, considering that they're cranked out by GM.

Sweet. Actually we'll have to hang around for a while waiting for Melody's flight to come in but that's no big deal.

Depending on cash flow, we might wind up renting the Impala anyway. It'll be good to have a car with a trunk that we can stash the guns and ammo in - some things you don't want laying around where anybody can see them. Especially in DC and Maryland.

I love the Borders at Block E! I went there a few days last semester, when my work load wasn't quite as heavy as now. Their manga section definitely surprised me, especially in the selection. I bought a space travel one for a friend; I can't recall the name, and I doubt I heard of it beforehand. Plus, it's a good way to pick up chicks- er, granted most are emo, punk, gothic, or otaku (to the max). Actually, scratch that last item. ^^;

You say that like it's a bad thing. ^^
