Out, out, damn'd virus!

I think I've come down with a cold. My nose has been running most of the day, I've been sneezing, and my head feels stuffy. So I think tonight I'll swing by the Walgreens to get my refill of Actos, stop by the Cub to get some chicken soup, get some gas while it's still cheap and the Texas Gulf Coast refineries still intact, and then go home to eat soup and crawl into bed for a long night's sleep.

The day started with physical therapy, which I mostly slept through since once again I didn't get to sleep until around midnight. After that, not much happened for the rest of the day. I got my mid-year review, during which I was admonished to tighten up my act and not screw off so much or I'd be downgraded to a 2 again next March. I was sufficiently miserable from the cold not to argue about it since my supervisor is basically right. I don't check my work very well or consistently, I tend to forget to do boring things like filing and clearing my desk of papers, and of late I've been having trouble getting in the door on time. Again. Well, this too will pass. It's true I don't have any great enthusiasm for this job, but the fact is that I'm not ready to make a move to a new one yet, not so soon after moving into a new apartment where I have barely begun to unpack and organize all my stuff. I could probably make a decent living as a temp doing data entry, but...I'd like to take a step up in salary when I leave here. Finishing my teaching certification and master's degree is an important part of that, and I need to start acting like it.
