baseball

The fix was in.

Yankees won the American League pennant, defeating the Angels 5-2. The game was close, but the Angels' pitchers walked too many batters, and a pair of errors in the bottom of the eighth sealed the deal. Despite the post title, the game was well played and the umpires don't seem to have screwed anything up in this game - of course, I'm saying that before reading the game day thread in SAS. The ESPN announcers didn't say anything about it, at any rate, and neither Joe Morgan nor Jim Miller subjected their listeners to a bunch of fisting remarks, so there you are.

Here's hoping for a Phillies sweep, starting Wednesday night. You can do it, lads.

Behold! MEATONNAISE!

Ever wondered to do with all that leftover animal fat in your freezer? (Me neither, actually.) But on the off-chance that you're the sort of foodie who keeps a few pounds of duck, beef, and other animal fats in the freezer, here's some helpful recipes to turn that wasted adipose matter into delicious MEATONNAISE. Yes, mayonnasie made with delicious meat fat instead of vegetable oil! Makes me wish I had a food processor. :(
