Enough already

Having spent most of this week driving hither and yon across the dark metropolis, I'm going to spend Saturday at home having some quality time with Cowzilla. I'll probably work on my apazine, since Jeanne is getting all twitchy about it, but most of the day will probably be wasted on Civicrack.

Finished The Wodehouse Bestiary, which was pretty funny, and Mr. American, which was not, at all, despite the sizable role played in it by the ancient (but far from senile) General Flashman. Usually I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a Fraser novel, but parts of this one cut a little too close to the bone, and so I'll refer you to the Wikipedia article for the usual plot summary. I will say that it is an excellent study of the upper class in the Edwardian era before World War I, and is as well done as any of Fraser's books, but that having been said, I don't think I'll be reading it again.
