Boss Coffee

You can stop on a dime

These are arguably the four busiest days of my year at work - I have something like 1000 database entries that need changing, creating, or shuting down before the new year. Murphy being the trickster he is, I started out late this morning as a result of sleeping in until 0715 (I'm going to double-check the alarm when I get home) and not getting in to work until 0900. So I'll be working until 1800 to make up the time; it's either that or stay half an hour late tomorrow or Thursday, and I'm not in the mood for that.

Thanks to everyone who gave me Christmas presents. You know who you are, I know who you are, and everyone else doesn't need to know. They were all very much appreciated. It's funny, but as I get older the whole present thing doesn't matter so much to me any more - I'm grateful when I get them, but I'd rather be around family and friends for some big chowing down and conversation instead.

Time to start grinding on the products. Friday will be here all too soon.

Acts of Gord

Anyone who has ever worked retail will appreciate the Acts of Gord. Anyone who has ever acted like an idiot in a game store, whether or not they're Canadian, will cringe while reading the Acts of Gord. Now, apparently, there is a webcomic devoted to the deeds of the Gord, if in somewhat exaggerated form.

I think this is where Megatokyo might have wound up if Rodney had won the creative struggle with Fred.

After yesterday's feast, I have an immense supply of leftovers, many of them vegetables and tubers. Time to make space in the fridge and eat a healthy meal for a change.
