I do things my way and I pay a high price

Well, about the only good thing to say about today's weigh-in (and breaking the 425-pound mark) is that the rate of weight gain has slowed down. P has speculated that the muscles built up this summer through swimming have begun to turn to fat, thus increasing the weight. I think it has more to do with uncontrolled fressing, myself.

In other news, the weather is about to take a turn for the worse tonight, plunging into the 30s and staying there for a while. Appropriately enough, I woke up with a cold this morning after leaving the windows open in the living room last night.

Registrations are starting to come in pretty steadily now that college and other schools have been in session for a month, anime clubs have resumed their meetings, and people are starting to think about Anime Detour again. I have a 2" thick wad of mail waiting for the handoff to redmartel on Wednesday, and very little of it is bank stuff or other business. Time for P and I to get our staff together, exhume the filebox from storage, and start whacking away at the keyboards.

Yup, that's all there was

Finished The Tale of Despereaux tonight, and it was kinda disappointing - the moderate evil was not dispatched, the heroic mouse didn't become a handsome prince, and about the only really good thing that happened was that soup was legalized. @_@ Other than that and some mutterings about the religious overtones in the book, class was about as dull and boring as it usually is. At least we have Halloween off, since about half the class are parents with kids and the instructor has a house on the Ghost Walk in Anoka. (Her place is haunted by Colonel Giddings, late of the First Minnesota. Yes, *that* First Minnesota.) So, we'll be doubling up the readings over the next couple of weeks.

Still no word on whether St. Mary's is going to chuck me out or not. I can wait.

Tonight, more book cataloging.

Tomorrow, the hotel walk-through, and maybe a trip to the library if we get done early enough. I'm out of (new) stuff to read.
