Sorting things out

"I propose to fight it out on this line if it takes all summer." - General U.S. Grant, May 11 1864

Well, I didn't gain any weight this week, which was a nice change - I'd gained two pounds last week and didn't get off to a good start afterwards, but all the walking Melody and I did while looking over the Thunderbird this weekend seems to have helped some. More walking, less eating this week, and even with Memorial Day I should be able to get under 400 by the time the next three weigh-ins go by and it's time to pony up for another ten weeks of Weight Watchers.

The pedometer that McDonald's is giving away with their Go Active Happy Meals will help with that. Silly as it is, having that little plastic gizmo clicking away on my belt encourages me to get some more walking done instead of sitting around, just to get that little number higher every day. Getting up to 10,000 steps (5 miles) every day is going to mean setting aside some time for dedicated walking. We'll see how that goes.

My ex is finally beginning to get a clue and realize how upset our daughter is with her. On the other hand, it's not helping her to snipe at me, since that's part of the problem...but it's not something I feel too inclined to help her with. She made her bed and now she can damn well lie in it.

What if...?

Aside from the temptations of slash, crossovers, self-inserts and continuation fics, fanfic writers like to fiddle around with that question. I'm no different. "After The Revolution", a Revolutionary Girl Utena fic set after the last Black Rose duel, was posted to last week (May 21) and should be appearing on rec.arts.anime.creative after it gets moderated.

On a related topic, I got a note from Geocities telling me that my home page hadn't been messed with in a while and I ought to do something with it. I suppose since I have some new fanfic to add in there I should go over and do things with the site...we'll see.

(EDIT 10/19/06) Eventually I did go through and edit the Geocities site, and "After the Revolution" wound up on the Utena fanfic page along with "Global Replacement", which has the original ending to Blood Red Skies.
