Normally I ignore tags...

...but since drunkenphlower asked nicely, here's the answers.

Total number of books I've owned: 1500-2000, easy. I know I have at least a thousand here in Minnesota, and I have more down home that I haven't seen in years. This doesn't include RPG rulebooks or scenario booklets, either; that would probably add another couple hundred onto the grand total. I've read all of them.

Last book I bought: HALO: The Fall of Reach, by Eric Nylund. Brain candy, pure and simple, a prequel to what happens in the HALO games from Bungie. Surprisingly good brain candy; I'd compare it to Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game.

Last book I read: Last book I finished was the Nylund novel just mentioned. I'm in the middle of reading T.R. Fehrenbach's This Kind Of War, which to me is the definitive history of the Korean War.

Five books that mean a lot to me: This is another way of asking what five books I'd take to a desert island, isn't it? Maybe not...well, hm. In no particular order:
The GULAG Archipelago, by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. The Right Stuff, by Tom Wolfe. Inferno, by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle. American Caesar, by William Manchester. From Here To Eternity, by James Jones.

Tag 5 people and have them fill this out in their LJs. Well, you took two of my picks, darn it! Step up to the plate, stuckintraffik, onsenmark, and windelina!

UPDATE ph33r my 1337 accounting skillz! I think I'd also like to hear from digex and huladavid, since I'm supposed to tag five people and not three. Stupid wombat. >_
