Steven den Beste has a report from Anime News Network (scroll down to the 4/30 entry; for some reason he doesn't have links to individual entries) about ADV; Steven's particular gripe, and it's a mild one, is that ADV seems to have overcommitted and is therefore delaying the second season of Kaleido Star. There is also an uncredited comment to the effect that sales of anime are leveling off, and ADV has been hurt by this.

I'm not close enough to the industry to know one way or the other, but that doesn't sound quite right to me. If the market is contracting, there's no obvious signs of it. You would think that more companies than just ADV would be having problems, and after a quick glance at the ANN website it looks like business as usual for all the distributors, and even some coproduction deals which suggest that the distributors have extra cash laying around to invest in extensions of successful series like Fruits Basket.
