I've always had the same take on the new year as I do on birthdays - the changes are so incremental that it's really not worth making a big hairy deal out of, but people get a kick out of it, so...might as well throw a party. Which we did last night at the Thunderbird, and it was fairly well attended. We wound up with plenty of pop and munchies despite the usual lack of coordination, ordered out for pizza twice, watched a bunch of AMVs and then hung out and talked for the rest of the evening. Some folks watched Red vs. Blue, which I'm kind of sorry I missed out on, but we were talkin' bidness at the other end of the Mohican Suite and that took priority. Josh, Matt, Jayson and I finally left about 4 AM, leaving TJ and Jacqueline to deal with the remaining wreckage as they saw fit. We had already disposed of most of the pocky - the remainder is going with TJ to Don Swentik's farewell party tonight - and as far as the various weird candies go, well, I've been dragging them around for most of the year and I think they're ready for the trash.
I'll probably sort through my journals (online and offline) tomorrow and do a Year In Review post since that seems to be what all the cool kids are doing. For now I need to get dressed, haul stuff to the storage locker and Video Universe, and head over to Josh's to view his Christmas tree and get some Halo practice in.
There are 69 days before Anime Detour 2005 begins, and the first of the weekly staff meetings is tomorrow at 1 PM. We have a lot to talk about, even after all the discussion of business at the party.
