The October Tactical Mix

This is an odd CD, ranging from trance and ambient through comedic parodies to cowpunk and pure country, but it fits my mood at this time and place. So here it is, for what it's worth.

1. Overture - Chicane
2. Low Sun - Chicane
3. No Ordinary Morning - Chicane
4. Autmn Tactics - Chicane
5. Satellite - Oceanlab
6. Andromeda - Chicane
7. Don't Give Up (Radio Edit) - Chicane
8. Dare To Be Stupid - Weird Al Yankovic
9. Falling In And Out Of Love - Pure Prairie League
10. Amie - Pure Prairie League
11. Mona Lee - Jason & The Scorchers
12. Temple Of Love - Sisters of Mercy
13. Moonshine Guy - Jason & The Scorchers
14. Days of Wine & Roses - Jason & The Scorchers
15. Better Than This - Jason & The Scorchers
16. Two Lane Highway - Pure Prairie League
17. King of Suede - Weird Al Yankovic

The bulk of the list, obviously, comes from Chicane's Behind the Sun followed by the more kick-ass cuts off the new Jason & The Scorchers CD Halcyon Times, which is now available for download from Amazon. [Hint, hint :)]. I added in Oceanlab's "Satellite" for purposes of comparison and counterpoint; this was my first exposure to Justine Suissa's awesome voice a couple of years ago, when Aaron Static put it in one of his Power Hours, and I couldn't resist pairing it with her work on Chicane's "Autumn Tactics". Other music was added because it felt like the right music in the right place, especially tracks 9-11; it used to irritate me beyond words when I heard "Amie" without the track that precedes it here.

I can't guarantee that this is actually good music for the field. It is, however, beautiful stuff for driving on the Interstate in the wee hours of the morning.
